El barrio de San Fermín es un barrio perteneciente al distrito de Usera desde 1988, año en que se realiza una organización administrativa de los distritos de la capital y deja de pertenencer a su barrio vecino de Villaverde para pasar a formar parte de Usera.
El barrio linda con el río Manzanares al este, al norte y al sur con la M-30, al oeste la Avenida de Andalucía y el barrio de Orcasur y al sur con la autopista M-40 y el nudo super-sur.
